Happy 40th Birthday, Russ

I just wanted to wish my wonderful husband Russ a very HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Yesterday I was asking Russ all day what he wanted for his birthday and he said what ever was fine. He said that I knew what he liked and anything was OK. Buying gifts is hard for me sometimes because I want to get something great for him and maybe I just over think it because he is absolutely amazing at getting me all kinds of stuff. I just want him to be as blessed as he has blessed me for the last 20 years. To tell the truth, Russ usually buys his own gifts and I like it because I know it is something he really wants. I think we are both happy but I am hoping the perfect something comes to mind. I want him to have the Best day. He deserves it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Love you.

My favorite day of the Week

I just love Saturdays......this day makes me happy. Every Saturday I make my family breakfast..ususally something yummy. This morning it is pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Saturday morning breakfasts have become a tradition in our home. It may seem like something every home does every morning but unfortunately not in ours. I have to leave the house sooo early during the week for work and Sunday is church that family breakfasts just do not happen. I plan for each breakfast knowing the kids are looking forward to it. Zack just got up and ask what we were having and said SWEET. Simply things like this make me happy and this is one way that I am finding more joy in my life...(part of my new years resolutions). Also I make sure my crazy daughter gets breakfast when drags herself up around noon. :)

The New Year

Happy New Year! Like everyone, I have reflected on the past year and I am just amazed how fast it went by. A New Year's resolution? I have heard many people say what is the use-you will just break it anyway. But as I ponder this, I believe it is good to have goals to reach and some kind of change in life for the better. Even though I always fall short of my resolutions, I am ususally never disappointed in myself because I did not make it. Maybe I should just try harder. I have realized in the last few months, I need a goal to work toward or I just don't do anything. I am looking at this year and can imagine so many changes our family will endure. I am confident that the changes will be for the good but I don't adapt to changes very easily sometimes. I pray that God is directing our path and we stay the course.

My 10 things to improve this year:

  1. Spending more time in the Word and prayer.
  2. Spending more time with Russ.
  3. Spending more quality with my kids.
  4. Keeping a neater home.
  5. Teaching the family to do their share around the house.
  6. Learn to love laundry..haha
  7. Becoming more organized.
  8. Finding more joy in a day.
  9. Being a better friend.
  10. Keeping the car clean for Russ. :)

I am sure there are many more thing I could list but this is what came to mind today. Life is going by too fast and I don't want to miss a minute of it. God bless!
